With the web going 2.0 traditional reciprocal links exchange and links in the footer have lost their ranking power. Nowadays, to be efficient, links have to be natural, or at least appear as natural in Google’s eyes.
That’s why linkbaits are often called spamdexing 2.0.
Many contestants are currently trying to build linkbaits. One of them is Jan, with his GlobalWarming Awareness2007 site.
